      WildEarthStewards: Caring for our Planet

““Hope is a belief that what we do might matter, an understanding that the future is not yet written. It’s informed, astute open-mindedness about what can happen and what role we may play in it. Hope looks forward, but it draws its energies from the past, from knowing histories, including our victories, and their complexities and imperfections.” - Rebecca Solnit”

      Optimism on the Wing

We met up with Claire during our summer RoadTrek road trip to Alaska.  Mom, Uncle David, and I had taken the day to wander Craemer's Field, in Fairbanks, a place I'd visited when I lived & worked in Alaska in the early 90's. It's a lovely place within the city to wander trails, watch birds, listen to the wind in the trees, sit by a pond, observe ducks dabbling, and connect to Nature.

9 weeks after setting out on my journey to seek out optimism, I'm home brimming with stories begging to be written, images to be shared, and interviews to transcribe & record.
In addition to spending quality time with dear friends, I made new fr

It's almost midnight here in Colorado. This has been a very full few days: full of intense heat (105°!), loaded with thick dust, chock full of wildlife, history, and exploration.
